Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.
Medvedev, a former number one, has endured a difficult season, winning just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - led to him exiting of the top ten and finally separating with long-term trainer his previous coach.
Currently working with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents his maiden championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface after spring of the previous year.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has won twenty-one titles at 21 different events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is really nice," stated ranked player the champion.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his previous six finals, featuring in that event earlier this year.
His defensive strategy and frequent outbursts on court had prompted commentators to doubt if his skill to perform at the elite level was finished.
But the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and perform positively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors swapped breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden professional title, seized the initiative to push for a final set.
The opponent defended four early opportunities in a close third set before the Russian broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he secured the title with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
