Automobiles in German City Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Authorities mentioned they were contacted by a resident who noticed a automobile in Hanau smeared with red-colored liquid

Approximately 50 cars have been marked with what seems to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Cars, building surfaces and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a statement.

Law enforcement say they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored liquid.

The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.

Police then located numerous other smeared vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state early analysis indicate the fluid was likely human blood.

"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; authorities are currently not informed of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they stated.

City officials said they were attempting "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the community for information.

A senior official commented the attack rendered him stunned and had to be addressed rapidly.

"This incident affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist attack half a decade ago," he wrote on a platform, referring to the murder of nine victims by a shooter targeting individuals of migrant background in five years prior.
